The Čezeta 175 is a scooter from the 1950s and 1960s that is still popular in the Czech Republic today. The scooters were also exported in large numbers to friendly countries such as the GDR, Hungary, Poland, but also to Cuba, Vietnam and even African countries. Only a few have survived the last 60 years. Sidecars in combination with single-track trailers are particularly popular.

Encyclopedia

The Čezeta 175-501 was characterized by its striking design, created by Czech designer Jaroslav František Koch. This futuristic design was reminiscent of a rocket and earned the scooter the nickname "banana scooter". The Čezeta 175-501 had a curved, streamlined body and a distinctive leg guard that protected the rider from wind and weather.

Under the hood of the Čezeta 175-501 was a single-cylinder engine with a displacement of 175 cc and an output of 9 hp. This engine was economical in fuel consumption and provided sufficient power for city driving and short trips.

Production of the Čezeta 175-501 ended in the 1960s, but its legacy lives on in restored examples and among classic scooter enthusiasts. The Čezeta 175-501 remains a symbol of the golden age of unique design in the 1950s.
