The special scooter, even in its native country of Czechoslovakia. Only a few of these scooters have survived the last 50 years. This Tatran S125 came to us from the Magdeburg area for a full restoration and, after the work was completed, returned to its first owner as a birthday present for her son. We are particularly pleased with such restoration projects. Have a good trip!
Encyclopedia
The Tatran S125 is a historic motor scooter produced in the 1950s and 1960s by the Czechoslovakian company ČZ (Česká Zbrojovka). This scooter was part of a series of two-wheelers produced in what was then Czechoslovakia and enjoyed great popularity due to their reliability and simple but functional design.
The Tatran S125 was equipped with a 125cc two-stroke engine that produced 5.5 horsepower and propelled the scooter to a top speed of around 80 km/h. This engine was known for its economy and durability, allowing the Tatran S125 to deliver solid performance.
The design of the Tatran S125 was simple and functional, with a focus on practical usability. The scooter had a sturdy steel frame that ensured good roadholding, as well as a simple but easy-to-read instrument panel and a comfortable seat for the driver. A characteristic feature of the Tatran S125 was the front leg shield, which protected the driver from wind and weather.
The Tatran S125 was primarily designed as a means of everyday transport and was used by many people in Czechoslovakia and other Eastern European countries. Its easy maintenance and solid construction made it a reliable means of transport, especially at a time when cars were still relatively rare in the region.
Today, well-preserved examples of the Tatran S125 are highly sought after by collectors of classic scooters and two-wheelers. This historic scooter recalls an era when simple but efficient means of transport were in demand and has a firm place in the history of Czechoslovak mobility.
